WestPac Travel Grants

WestPac provides travel grants for WestPac members to attend the AALL and WestPac Annual Meetings.  Applicants should complete the appropriate forms upon their release.  The successful applicants must be willing to write about their meeting experience for the newsletter and must be willing to serve on a WestPac committee of their choice.

Grant Applications

WESTPAC ANNUAL MEETING TRAVEL GRANTS

The following grants are available for the 2024 WestPac Annual Meeting in Whitefish, Montana:

  • Two $550 WestPac Travel Grants
  • One $550 D.J. Morrison Travel Grants for Electronic Services Librarians
  • One $550 Diversity & Inclusion Grant

WestPac Travel Grant

    We are offering two $550 WestPac Travel Grants to offset the costs of attending this year's conference in Whitefish, MT.  

    Deadline for application: Friday, August 16

    Congratulations to the 2023 recipients:

    • Mari Cheney, Research Librarian at Perkins Coie LLP.
    • Annalee Hickman Pearson, Head of Reference & Faculty Services at Brigham Young University (J. Reuben Clark Law School).
    • Pauline Afuso, Public Services Librarian at the Alameda County Law Library.
    • Emily Donnellan, Reference Librarian at the Oregon State Law Library.


    DJ Morrison Grant

    Approved by WestPac Executive Board July 2005

    DJ Morrison was a much esteemed and loved WestPac member who served as the Electronic Services Librarian at the State of Oregon Law Library before passing away in 2003.

    This grant was established in her honor, to provide financial assistance in attending WestPac’s Annual Meeting to those members pursuing careers or responsibilities in the area of electronic services. This grant carries a value of up to $1000.00, dependent on projected conference expenses and financial need expressed by the successful applicant. For 2024, we are offering one $550 grant.

    Application - D.J. Morrison Travel Grant

    Congratulations to the 2023 recipients:

    • Sarah Archibald, Electronic Services Librarian at the University of Utah (S.J. Quinney College of Law). 
    • Jonathan Franklin, Digital Innovation Librarian at the University of Washington School of Law.


    DIVERSITY & INCLUSION GRANT

    One $550 grant is available to off-set the cost of the 2024 Annual Meeting in Whitefish, MT.

    • Applicants from historically underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply for the grant.
    • Receiving a Diversity & Inclusion Grant does not prevent you from applying for (and receiving) any other WestPac grant or scholarship.
