The Supreme Court of Nevada Law Library is searching for a Reference Librarian who will join a collaborative team of librarians excited about future innovations to improve the collections and services we provide to judges, court staff, legal practitioners, and the general public.
Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for staffing a daily reference shift, completing research requests, revising and developing new LibGuides, creating monthly book displays, responding to document delivery requests from inmates, and performing other library duties. The Librarian develops training materials, library promotional materials, and research guides; may participate in selecting books and other materials for the library’s collections; participates in state, regional and national library associations and activities; and attends professional meetings and workshops. This position supports the Library Technician and the Library Assistant positions, as needed.
As a member of the Reference Staff, the Reference Librarian has the option to work off-site one day a week to handle chat reference and creative projects, such as developing LibGuides.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Master’s degree in a Library Science program accredited by the American Library Association or an equivalent, accredited institution; OR current enrollment in an academic program leading to a Master’s degree in a program accredited by the American Library Association or an equivalent, accredited institution and one year of library or customer service experience; OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of library experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
